How do I pronounce your name?

Do you take insurance?

I do not work in-network with any insurance plans, but if you have out of network coverage, you may be able to get some reimbursement. This means that I will provide you with something called a Superbill at the end of each month for submission to insurance.

Do you offer sliding scale appointments?

Due to high demand and the intensity of this work, I am not offering sliding scale appointments. If you want to work with me but cannot afford weekly sessions, I do offer some “drop-in” sessions (schedule permitting) that can be used for more acute or short-term issues.

What should I bring to sessions?

Yourself! An open mind and heart. Pen and paper, water, tissues or a hanky.

Do you see people in person?

No. Due to ongoing restrictions, and unknown futures, I will continue to practice remotely through zoom.

Can I see you from anywhere in the country/world?

I offer remote sessions anywhere in the world for coaching and am a licensed therapist for insurance use in NY, CT, CA.

Do you offer coaching and therapy?

Yes. Therapy is only offered in states I am licensed in. Coaching can be done anywhere. The biggest difference is just the insurance part of it.

Can I ask you personal questions?

Please don’t. There may be occasions where I will share something personal that feels relevant to the situation and supportive in your care. Outside of that, I’d prefer to keep my personal life private. Try to keep in mind that therapists are real people too. We are not immune to life struggles, loss, grief, etc. You don’t know what you might be triggering with personal questions, so it’s best to focus on your own treatment.

What happens if I run into you outside of sessions?

It could happen! If you’d like to say hello, you may. I will not initiate conversation, but will nod and smile in acknowledgment. This is for the protection of your privacy.

Can I text/email/call outside of my session time?

Yes and no. For scheduling issues, yes. For letting me know briefly about something you may want to remember to discuss in your next session or alerting me to special milestones like engagement, marriage, birth, etc., yes. But please keep in mind that email is not fully guaranteed to be confidential, so it’s best to not be writing journals and emotional/traumatic things down. I am also unable to offer constant communication during my time off, so please be respectful of that as well.

Do you offer “emergency” sessions?

If I can fit you into the schedule and it’s important, yes. But I do not offer sessions outside of my normal working hours. If it’s truly an emergency, you should call 911, always.

Do you work weekends?

No. I see clients Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday only. I will not be able to accommodate any scheduling needs outside of that.

What if it’s not a fit?

Sometimes that happens! Not everyone is a match for each other. If it’s not a fit on my end or your end, let’s just be honest and respectful. I’m always happy to refer to other therapists as well.

What is holistic/humanistic therapy?

It is a full-body, full-mind, full-life approach to therapy. Problems and struggles don’t often come from just one area and I believe that we need to have a full picture of everything that’s going on in order to really grow and heal.

Can we be friends?

Nope. Professional relationships will always remain professional. I feel a great amount of care for my clients, but in order to provide the best care possible, the relationship has to remain professional.

Am I just paying you to care about me?

Nope. You are paying for my knowledge and skills to help you through life’s challenges. The care is free.
