Somatic Coaching, Nationwide
Integrative Health Coaching for a Calmer Nervous System
When the stress lives in your body, talking about it isn't always enough.
I'm Risha London Nathan, a licensed clinical social worker and certified holistic health coach. Integrative health coaching is whole-person work: somatic, body-based practices at the center, with the everyday foundations around them - sleep, energy, the gut-brain connection, how your days are structured. Coaching is available online, anywhere in the world.

What Is Somatic Coaching?
Integrative health coaching looks at mind and body as one connected system: stress, sleep, energy, habits and relationships together. Instead of chasing symptoms one at a time, an integrative health coach helps you find the pattern underneath and build small, sustainable changes that hold.
The somatic work stays at the center. Somatic coaching means working with what your body is doing - a tight chest, shallow breath, a jaw that never unclenches - and building practical tools that bring your nervous system back to calm.
Most of us learn to push through. The body keeps the score anyway, in sleep, digestion, energy and mood. Somatic work treats those signals as information rather than something to override.
My background sits in two places at once: clinical training as an LCSW, and holistic health coaching. That means we can look at attachment patterns and old relational habits alongside caffeine, sleep and how your day is actually structured. Nutrition here is education, not treatment.
Who This Is For
Common Reasons People Come to Somatic Coaching
You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis. Most people arrive because something feels off and they want tools that work in real life.
The Work Itself
What We Do in Coaching Sessions
Nervous System Regulation
Learning what activation and shutdown feel like in your body, and building a short list of tools that reliably bring you back down. Breath, orienting, movement, grounding.
Attachment & Relationship Patterns
Noticing how you brace, withdraw or over-give with the people closest to you, and practising a different response while it's happening rather than analysing it afterwards.
Everyday Tools That Hold
Boundaries, communication, sleep, caffeine, pacing. Small structural changes that keep the nervous system out of a state it can't recover from.

Specialist Focus
Coaching for Founders, Executives & Start-Up Teams
High-stakes work has a physiology. Long stretches of pressure, decisions made on four hours of sleep, a co-founder relationship carrying more weight than it was built for. The body adapts until it can't.
This work covers leadership stress, decision-making under pressure, co-founder and team communication, burnout prevention, relationship strain during growth periods, and building genuine nervous system resilience rather than a higher tolerance for depletion.

Coaching FAQs
What is integrative health coaching?
Integrative health coaching is whole-person coaching that works with mind and body together: nervous system regulation, stress, sleep, energy and daily habits. My approach is grounded in somatic, body-based tools, with health coaching structure around them.
Is somatic coaching the same as somatic therapy?
No. Coaching is non-clinical, does not include diagnosis, and is not eligible for insurance reimbursement. Therapy is clinical care and I can only offer it in the states where I'm licensed. The mind-body approach is the same in both.
Where is somatic coaching available?
Coaching is online and available anywhere. Therapy is limited to California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, so coaching is often the right fit if you're outside those states.
Do I need a diagnosis to work with a somatic coach?
No. Most people come because something feels off, not because of a diagnosis. If what you're describing needs clinical care, I'll say so and help you find the right support.
What happens in a somatic coaching session?
We check in on what's actually happening in your body and your week, practise a tool or two together live, and leave you with something small and specific to work with until the next session.
How long does somatic coaching take to work?
Most people notice small shifts in how they sleep or how quickly they settle within the first few weeks. Deeper pattern change takes longer, and we'll set the pace together.
